I run RH 7.3 on a 600E and the only thing that was even a little tricky
was getting the sound working. Other than that, everything pretty much
just works. I am still having a little trouble suspending to disk, but
that is mostly for lack of a real try on my part. I have also heard of
modem issues with the mwave modems IBM uses, but I haven't tried making
it work and there is documentation out there on the issue.

As for the Ultrabay, I use it with a cd drive, floppy drive, and second
battery; all with no problems.

I use http://www.linux-laptop.net quite a bit if I get in trouble
anywhere, there is some great documentation there. It is nice that there
is plenty of documentation out there on running linux on thinkpads.

Good luck.
