You'll almost have to do that with any distro; probably even more
with Debian.  And with Debian, you won't have a "bible" to open
for yourself, you'll have to go to Pioneer Square where Karl is
everyday standing on his soap-box reciting scripture, but it'll be
in Emacs LISP so it won't make sense anyway!
