Do these tools support the X option ``-display"? If so, set the display
for a computer running X, & continue on without a hitch.

(The reason for my waffling is that I'm surprised that Gtk+ *DOESN'T*
suport many reference X switches, & so I'm not as quick to claim how
you can solve the problem in a couple of easy steps. The tools you are
talking about, Bruce, may use the Gtk+ libraries. I'm getting to
the point where I want to rant about b0rken-as-designed features in
Gtk+.)
