Robert,

  What fonts have you installed, and it what order are they listed in the
fonts/ directory? Also, what word processor(s) have you tried?

  The only problems I have with some web pages is that the designer chose
horrible, low contrast colors (e.g., blue on green) or a black background
and that makes the page difficult -- or impossible -- for me to read.

  My mozilla, opera, WordPerfect, etc. fonts are just fine. Of course, in
the text apps (e.g., pine, emacs, joe, general ledger) I can even work
without my reading glasses. :-)
