Why don't you try running:

/usr/local/apache2/bin/httpd -DSSL -X

This is single-process debug mode, and can be pretty helpful.

Subject: [PLUG] Apache 2.0.35 mod_ssl

My apache has been compiled with mod_ssl and it starts and runs just fine.

 3538 ? S 0:00 /usr/local/apache2/bin/httpd -DSSL
 3539 ? S 0:00 /usr/local/apache2/bin/httpd -DSSL
 3540 ? and more..

When I hit it with the browser, it errors out. this is from the error log.

[Fri May 10 10:51:39 2002] [error] [client 192.168.2.19] Invalid method in
request ?j`b [Fri May 10 10:52:20 2002] [error] [client 192.168.2.19]
Invalid method in request ?F`b

one is the ip and one the fqdn.

a telnet does this:

[mike at freya mike]$ telnet 192.168.2.19 80

this is in error log:

Is it a key issue? I am stumped. Too bleeding edge for my old bones?

Thanks ahead.

Mike
