Russ,
I was getting more spam/day before I set up postfix here and had a
lower-number MX record inserted into the ISPs dns servers. Neither procmail
recipes nor spamassassin worked well; the latter I did not get properly
running. Spam here comes in quanta: some days none, some days a bunch.
/var/log/maillog makes interesting reading. I don't see a message saying
"reject" or "bounce", but I see connections opened and closed with no action
in between.

On the postfix web site there are three or four example files that were
contributed. I combined those as the base of my files.

After reading through some of the extended list I understand the
advantages of both. I just used rsync to grab the spamlist-extended and
incorporated it with my base list. We'll see what happens now.
Thanks,
