run X 4.2.0. The new sis driver in 4.2.0 is much much better for sis
(also trident).

RH 7.3.0 has it.  I recompiled the rawhide RPMS for 7.2, and it
complains about a kernel-drm error, but it works.

4.0.1 is pretty old, perhpas you meant 4.1.0?

One "bad" thing about X is you often need to upgrade the whole X tree to
upgrade drivers. It is royal pain.
