Also, are you looking for maximum stability/reliability?  This would
imply support for ECC memory, and many motherboards either don't support
ECC, or have bogus support for it -- some have a BIOS option for
enabling ECC (assuming you install ECC memory modules) but the hardware is
not actually capable of supporting it regardless of how you set the BIOS.

For maximum stability/reliability, check the motherboard overclocking web
sites, the further you can push a motherboard with overclocking, the more
stable it will be running at it's rated speed, and it also implies a
better overall design.  It should be noted that some very good
motherboards don't really support overclocking very well, but should not
necessarily be ruled out.

I have read in a number of different places that Tyan is the preferred
manufacturer for many people/companies who build alot of servers.
