See if the CD provides a boot floppy image to use...  Hmmm.  Why must
you boot with the CD to perform an upgrade?  On a Debian GNU/Linux
system, you would simply run "apt-cdrom" to register the new CD, then
use the normal "aptitude" or "apt-get" tools to perform the upgrade. 
(no reboot required, unless you upgrade your kernel)

These are all very new systems. I'll install apt-get and go that route.
