Bullshit.  If not for GNU Compiler Collection, GNU Emacs, and all of the
GNU tools, there could be no Linux kernel.  Even if there was a Linux
kernel, what would you run with it if not for GNU?

So, when referring to the kernel, it's "Linux".  But when referring to
the entire system of kernel + userland software, it's "GNU/Linux",
pronounced "GNU over Linux".
