[PLUG] Problems using a Netgear PS 110 print server device from Linux

I'm setting up a Netgear PS 110 print server device.
This is a device to put your printers on a LAN a bit like an HP Jet
Connect.

The Netgear PS 110 print server has a network connection and two
parallel ports. The network connection is connected to the LAN,
and each of the parallel ports is connected to a printer, P1 and P2.
Windows PCs on the LAN can print to either printer. So far I
have NOT been able to print to either printer from a Linux box
on the LAN.

I should be able to print via samba, lpd, or ftp according to the
manual and I think the Netgear configuration supports this, but ...

    (1) I can use a command like:
              smbclient -L PS330444 -I 192.168.0.4
to get information about the supported services, but
I can not print using smbclient like I normally can.
When I try this nothing happens at either printer.

    (2) I can use ftp to get to the Netgear box, read and write
the Netgear configuration file, reset the box and so on.
But, I haven't been able to ftp a file to either printer.

    (3) I don't remember what happened when I used cups (lpd), but
as I recall nothing happened. I think the files justed
queued up with the first one being active.

Does anyone have an idea about this situation?
If so, we advise me.

                                          Sincerely,
                                          David Mandel
