3rd question:

In my /boot directory, there are files called module-info-(kernel name)
for the kernels that came from red hat. Can anyone point me to info
on how these are supposed to be generated, and what might use them?

I'm not providing them for kernels I build. So far that doesn't
*appear* to be a problem. But maybe one of the ones already there
is getting used by default? (like the one simply called "module-info"
which is a link to module-info-2.4.9-34)
