I'm not clear on what you're asking for, Ed. If you want to manipulate
the text line for an xterm or rxvt window, the Bash-Prompt-HOWTO
has a lot of good ideas for getting past the ``xterm -T 'Title of Window'"
stage.

If there is nothing in Gnome -- or its window managers -- that support
the equivalent of the -T flag, then I have one more reason to
dislike Gnome.
