[PLUG] Changing hardware but keeping system intact

I have a light duty server that sits on hardware that would be better
used as a workstation:

1ghz Duron, 192mb RAM, 60gb IDE HD.

I have a Celeron 300mhz, 128mb RAM, 8gb HD that would work just fine.

I have done this sort of thing with Windows workstations, but never a
Linux box. System is a Redhat 7.2, mostly stock, running postfix,
mailman, pop-before-smtp, a few other goodies. eth0 is the only NIC.

I installed RH7.2 on the "new" 300mhz system...This can't be as simple
as copying over the directories....leaving the /boot partition alone?

BTW - after it's transferred over successfully I plan to upgrade all the
packages with 8.0 CD's plus up2date once that is in.

Suggestions?

Thanks,
----Greg
