How would I tell if a disk is being buffered in memory? How could I disable the buffering on a disk? Does the kernel keep a list of types of files ( Linux assumes disks are file correct? ) that it knows not to buffer, ie ramdisk? Anyone know where that information is kept? If in the kernel source could you tell me where? Thank you Russell
