the simple answer is this, YES. You can take out the last 3 lines and
the splash image line with no problems. The reason it broke when you
only commented out the title is because the block that went under DOS
then came under linux, and as you said made it horibly confused.
I've never understood lilo, but never had a problem with grub. Odd how
it seems opposit with so many people. Anyways, have fun.
