[PLUG] busted notebook options

You *could* troll eBay for a while looking for a similar laptop that is 
DOA but with a good display...or check the Sony Vaio pages for a 
replacement display.

But, like Alan said - even that route is expensive.  My wife's Dell 8100 
has the 14.1" screen - I was checking the Dell site a while ago and 
noticed that they sell the 15" screens...for about 3/4 the price of a 
brand-new laptop.

But, YMMV.  I hope you find someplace that will fix yours for a 
reasonable price.
