[PLUG] Email signatures

I just had a random thought...

In HURD you can create translators and essentually bind them to a
file.  I might get some terminology wrong, but one thing you can then
do with this "file" is random email signatures.  That is, you can make
a file that changes it's contents after everytime it is read.

Does anyone know an easy way that doesn't require root to do this with
unix or linux?

I had a cool idea for an email signature, but it would require that my
email changes everytime I send an email.  And I want to use pine, but
I would prefer to be able to do it at the file level not the email
client level.  This is something that could be useful in general.
