Tony,

  Yes. Not only do they recommend this, but one in California (drydog.com?
mainecoon.com?) had a change in IP address recently.

  In my ntp.conf, the IP address is after a comment sign.

  BTW, thanks to all of you. I had a non-functioning ntp.conf. Don't know
exactly where, but I redid it based on one of the web sites recommended to
me, stopped and restarted ntpd and it is now working as designed.
