[PLUG] Compaq Pressario 900 Laptop with Linux?

No, it's not the case.
BIOS is not writing anything on its HD.
It started to recognize its HD only after I set it manually in BIOS.
Finally I was able to install Linux on this laptop over NFS share, 
'cause for some reasons it doesn't recognize its own DVD ROM.
Now this Compaq hangs during kernel bootup. 
What's a piece of crap!
