[PLUG] distro schema

All this talk of EOLing software bugs me. I have a set of perfectly
good reasonably well working RH7.2 systems. I really don't want to be
constantly upgrading entire systems -- that's one of the reasons I
stopped having any thing to do with RedmondSoftware. What is anybody's
preference for a distro that doesn't seem to have this particular
"Feature".

Other than the apt-get feature of Debian, and the fact that it's
layout on the FS is way different than what I'm used to on RedHat...

How do distro's stack up regarding ease of upgrade. I'm starting to
think LFS is a better solution!
