[PLUG] XML tags/DVD for literature

I'm giving up on getting dosemu running on my system. This means that
after 18 years I'll have to give up my text-based management system (tbms)
which let me do sequential, full-text searches on "notes". Sigh. Incredibly
useful tool. So, ... I need to develop a linux-based replacement.

I have three databases to translate. In order of importance they are: my
scientific literature reference library database, my recipe database and my
random notes database.

For the literature reference db, rather than using bibtex, I think it
would be more practical to use XML tags and a dtd to let me
add/view/modify/delete individual records.

Has anyone a suggestion of a format to use, or an existing wheel that does
not need re-inventing?

Thanks,

Rich
