[PLUG] rpm failed: Success?

  I'd greatly appreciate having one of you rpm gurus explain this error
message to me as I tried to upgrade from VMware-3 to VMware-4:

[root at salmo /home/rshepard]# rpm -Fvh VMware-workstation-4.0.0-4460.i386.rpm 
VMware-workstation-4.0.0-4460.i386.rpm: read manifest failed: Success

  Why do I get a "success" when the read manifest (whatever that is) failed?
