Don't worry about Reply and Reply All behavior, look up how to use
reply-to-list.  Long story short, if you add lines like this one to
your ~/.muttrc, all you have to do after that is hit L to reply to
list.

subscribe plug at lists.pdxlinux.org

You can specify as many mailing list addresses as you like per
subscribe line, and as many subscribe lines as you want.

Other MUA's that aren't still in the stone age in this regard are
kmail and sylpheed-claws off the top of my head, but I know there's
many more.
