[PLUG] ssh and X forwarding

Am I correct in assuming that if X forwarding is set to "yes" in
/etc/ssh_config and /etc/sshd_config, then it's done automatically? That is,
an X app running on the server is displayed in X on the client?

I'm wondering if this would be the most parsimonious way for my fiancee to
read and compose mail from her laptop. Easier than me trying to learn how to
properly set up an IMAP server for her use.

My thought is to write a shell script attached to a panel button on Xfce
on the laptop. When she wants to read/write mail, the script would initiate
a ssh connection to 'salmo', she'd enter her password, then have slypheed
run on 'salmo' (while I'm running X on the same machine) but display on her
laptop. I assume that in the script I'd need to tell sylpheed to use 1: for
an X display because 0: is alreay in use.

Make any sense to you gurus?

Rich
