Two weeks ago I bought an IOGear GPSU01 USB print server from Compusa
for $50 to solve the very same problem. Although I haven't tried it yet,
a Google search on +iogear +linux +"print server" or something similar
turned up enough hits to make me think it will work. Apparently it's
almost? identical to a Hawking print server. Last week CompUSA (if I
remember correctly) had the Linksys USB print server on sale for about
$50 after rebate.

I saw a linksys parallel print server & router on pdxforsale.com last
Thursday. It's near the top of this page:

Don't know if it's still available.

If you buy one, let us know how it works for you!
