  Chuckle away, but I accidently erased all the dot-files in my home
directory severalt years ago. After that uncomfortable, sinking feeling in
my gut went away I got the last week's full backup tape and restored them
all, then followed up with any incremental, daily backups. About a half-hour
later I was back in business. Wiser, too. That's when I made an alias for
'rm' that forces me to confirm each one.
