[PLUG] configuring mutt for html mail

I'm trying to switch from pine to mutt, but can't get mutt to handle
incomming html mail the way pine does -- which is basically to display
it as if it were plain text. I've set up my .mailcap file with this line:

text/html;lynx %s; copiousoutput

and in .muttrc have

auto_view text/html

but when I try to open mail that's text/html I see a permanent message
at the bottom of mutt's display like this:

Invoking autoview command: lynx '/tmp/mutt4534'

I have to ^C to get out of that state, and then get a screen full of
raw html.

Does anybody have this working? Any tips? I've found plenty of sites
via google that claim it does work but none with info beyond what I've
set up in my .muttrc and .mailcap.

Versions: mutt: 1.2.5i; lynx 2.8.4dev16

Thanks,
