[PLUG] a Samba PDC - has it actually been done?

Ah. One issue that I had was that I couldn't figure out how to have
automatically expiring passwords or how to have users change their passwords
from their machines. Additionally, there are *two* passwords that need to be
changed (as far as *I* can figure out) - the Samba password and the *nix
password. I'm not a guru by any stretch of the imagination...

If you'd like, I can take a look at your smb.conf file and make comments on
it.

I've been frustrated by too many incomplete and/or out-of-date sources of
information. I've also been frustrated by the HowTo documentation telling
me how to implement extra features (such as printer support or roaming
profiles) that I don't want or need.

My particular question would be: how can I discover which parts of the
sample smb.conf file are irrelevant to my application and therefore safe to
omit?

All I really want is a computer to centralize passwords on a current
peer-based network so that I don't have to fix all six machines when I
change one user account's password.
