Rob,

  My suggestion is probably not a good solution for you, but I can get data
access via my satellite phone from anywhere to anywhere. It's limited to
9600 bps, and the air time charge is $1.50 per minute, but it works.

  Haven't used it for data yet (no need to), but even in the Gorge and parts
of the Cascades I've found cellular telephone dead zones. The satellite
phone works like a charm in those locations.
