I've had this problem several times now. My mouse loses its dragging ability, ie scroll bars etc. I can fix this by restarting X, however the last time I did this my HD quit! Coincidence? I hope so. But I just did it with my new HD and it made a little 'ding' sound, like when it seeks track 0 or resets or whatever it's called. FYI: RH 8.0
