I have nothing but good things to say about the Athlon XP processors. I'm
running a 2000+ in my desktop system, and an Athlon 1ghz in two of my servers.

Fry's continually has sales on ~2000+ Athlon XP w/ECS motherboard for $90
and up. The ECS motherboard seems to be a decent board for a general
purpose board. I've put a few of those in systems, although I do have a
Soyo KT333 in my workstation.
