[PLUG] Printing with RH 8 - It Just Works!

I'm fiddling with Cycas, a CAD system from Germany. I successfully
completed the basic tutorial exercises and decided to see what a print
out looked like. Then, I remembered that I hadn't set up a printer on
this system yet, and was a bit trepidatious about how successful that
would be. Turns out to be simple.

I plugged my HP 656c into the Thinkpad's USB port, clicked on the red
hat > System Settings > Printing. This brought up a password entry box
for root access. Then it started up the Red Hat Printer Config utility.
Clicking on "new" brings up a series of fill-in-the-blank boxes, that
had no problem finding everything it needed to support the HP 656c with
LPD. It was so quick and boring, that I wondered if it had done anything
at all. It actually took me a couple of minutes longer to figure out how
to set the print scale in Cycas, but once I had done that, and hit
print, the printer came to life and from it, a respectable drawing
emerged.

The last time I tried to set up the HP 656c was with a slightly older
distribution that didn't include hpijs. I eventually managed to get it
working with CUPS, but it took a lot longer.
