[PLUG] ACPI on a Thinkpad R31...

Hi all,

I'm trying to get ACPI of some sort working on my Thinkpad R31. I've built the 
kernel with ACPI support. When I boot I get the following messages...

However, I get no /proc/acpi directory and acpid will not start. What might I 
be doing wrong?
