[PLUG] Disk Hardware Problem

It's possible that one of the cards was loose in the slot, or a cable
might be loose. This could explain why it failed to work at
mom-in-law's house but worked after you brought it to your house. The
jostling around maybe have wiggled it back into contact.
I would recommend opening it up, and re-seating all the cards, giving
them a firm push into their slots. Also make sure all cables are pushed
firmly into place. I used to have a computer who's video card never
seated quite right. I finally had to remove it, slightly bend the piece
that gets screwed to the case, then fasten it back in, which fixed the
problem.
