[PLUG] Colormap in Linux

Hi:

I just attempted to run an Mpeg player on my RH9 box.
I wanted to play an Mpeg 1 video segment.
The player (mpegtv) complains that the colormap is
full.  It brought up the video but the screen is blury
and beyond watchable condition.

Is there a trick on how Linux handles colormap that I can specify something
into my XFree86 config?    Any tip/pointer much appreciated.
