[PLUG] Clinux-Gentoo

Any gentoo gurus going to be at the clinic?  I've got the following
problem:
  kernel1 works but has acpi active
  kernel2 was supposed to make apm active and acpi inactive, which    
it did, but it also took the pcmcia out too.
Looking at the diff of the configs I cannot see that I changed anything
that should have affected pcmcia.
