Hi all,
	Ed, I work here at HP in Vancouver. I am the hpoj and hpijs support person for linux.
If you have any questions at all about HP specific products or compatibility, feel free to ask me or send an email to 
linux_deskjet at hp.com and I can answer it there. Since you only need a single function printer, an AIO would be overkill.
If you swear up and down, you're never going to print a photo and just need okay color occasionall, then the 3420 might suit your needs.
It looks like a big tootsie roll. It folds up nicely and prints pretty average. That is our lowest cost printer.
