Hi everyone -

The Portland Area .NET User's Group (PADNUG) is meeting this Thursday,
7/31. Anyone with an interest in .NET or Mono programming is welcome to
attend, although (warning!) most participants come from a windows
background.

Networking and free pizza starts at 6:00pm. The meeting begins at 6:30
with group announcements, immediately followed by the featured
speaker's presentation. This month's presentation is on user interface
design under the .NET framework, hosted by Phil Weber.

PADNUG meetings are free and open to the public. For more information
on future meetings and joining the PADNUG mailing list see
http://www.padnug.org.

Presentation: Create Great .NET User Interfaces
  Time: 6:30pm, 7/31/2003
Place: Step Technology 6915 SW Macadam, Suite 200, Portland OR
  Directions: http://www.steptech.com/aboutus/map.asp?navarea=contactus

  Description:

Even the most beautifully coded application will flop if people hate
to use it. And they will, if its user interface is not designed with
their goals in mind. What makes a great UI? How can you apply the
principles that work so well for the guts of an application to its
  front end?

We'll show you specific techniques (with code!) that you can use
immediately to reduce complexity for your users and improve your
  presentation layer's efficiency and maintainability."
