I'll second this-- it's more complicated than a simple tcpdump to see your
neighbors' unicast traffic.  I'm sure that some (most?) cable modems can
be configured or hacked to pass all traffic through, but casual
observation is no longer possible.

Besides, any reasonably sensitive information should be encrypted before
it ever leaves your own network, and preferably before it leaves your own
host.  ;-)
