[PLUG] A typographic phenomenon

Your AutoCorrect setting is turning the ' and " (single- and
double-prime symbols) into curly apostrophes as you type. Some fonts
have a glyph defined for this ASCII value; others don't. When it's
undefined, you see the question mark symbol. If you turn-off this
autocorrect feature, you'll have typography that is not quite so pretty
at its best, but it will always be legible.
