[PLUG] eBay scam

I've read the original post a few times and I keep wondering if I'm reading it
correctly. There are two cases that are very different that I can read into the
post. One, the person bought VMware and is now selling only one copy, or two,
the person bought VMware and is selling many copies. I assume a person has the
right to sell used software that the person holds a license for, to another
party, if that person isn't using the software and not keeping a copy of it. I
think there are some EULAs that specify that you can't do this, but I don't
know if there is something legal backing that. One of the reasons for using
Linux is that this type of murkiness disappears.

I can't make up my mind what the person is really saying, especially if the
person isn't a native English speaker. English aside, I've watched many, many
disputes erupt over email because what one person was posting was read
differently by a reader. The Constitution was written how long ago and we are
still arguing over what it says? I have to assume the Constitution had a lot
more thought put into it than a email and was meant to clearly state what the
author meant, yet, it is still means different things to different people.

I'm also wondering why a person looking for an illegal copy of VMware, would be
buying it on ebay. I'm assuming it can't be hard to find a VMware key via a
search on google that won't require an exchange of funds and proof of a crime.
It seems the seller would be very silly to put up illegal software. Maybe ebay,
the seller, and you could sit down and determine what this seller is really
selling? It just seems to me there isn't enough information.

Thank you
Russell
