Maybe you need to use simpler DNS software
that allows you to capitalize on your current
skills.

BIND8 still works well as long as you run it
as either an authority server or a cache - not
both. Few of us really need the features of
BIND9. For example, do you really need a
BIND-specific, secure protocol (rndc) to your
remote DNS daemon when you already know how to
use SSH?

The djbdns software is also simpler though it
may not seem so at first.
