As a previous poster mentioned, there's a script included on the Knoppix
ISO that makes it a pretty simple matter to copy the image onto your
local hard drive. You'll need to know a few basic things about Linux,
such as how to partition your drive. Other than that, it's pretty much
auto-pilot. It was by far the easiest OS install I've ever done, and
I've done many (including Windoze and MacOS).

The only issues I had with Knoppix after copying it to a local drive
were with KDE user settings. Stuff like language preferences, and a few
Open Office path settings had to be modified.
