Yup. I used to use the pcmcia modem to dial in via a landline. However,
that costs money while using my cell phone within the 12 western states is
all part of the monthly rate.

Slackware-9.0; used to be Red Hat 6.2.

The only OS popular here for the past half-dozen years is linux.

I'm using the same scripts I used with the pcmcia modem.
I suspect the problem is with the 'network' setup on the Kyocera. Neither
they nor Verizon Wireless have a clue about linux (at least, not
officially).
