Whoops, you understood wrong.  Move on.  That's one instructor, one class
and one screwup you're talking about.  Don't worry, you'll have the
opportunity to experience many, many more of those.

Finish it at PSU, while working for the CAT.  You volunteer your time,
they teach you to be an admin and give you work experience.  Degree plus
appropriate experience equals decent job.  Degree plus nothing equals
diddly-squat.

And don't focus on Linux to the exclusion of other stuff.  Any dope can
learn to admin a homogenous, unchanging system.  Mixed environments and
integration are where the action's at.
