Well... FWIW, I've had exactly the opposite experience with it, in
general.

I haven't had any real problems with McAfee, PC-Cillin, or Grisoft's AVG
when it comes to AV software. And I've worked on systems with all
three. The closes to a problem I've had with McAfee was it not wanting
ot take a new license - that was fixed with (you guessed it) a reboot.

Norton, on the other hand, has given me nothing but problems over the
years. System Works caused terrible instabilities back when I was
running Windoze as my OS of choice. The AV software still plagues my
father's system (running XP) with constant problems, including not
wanting to patch itself. The only remaining 98 system won't let me
install Norton on it at all right now, but other software installs
without any issues.

For a firewall, I would definitely go with ZoneAlarm - it's free, and
does the job just fine. Just make sure if they have a small LAN, they
don't install it on the 'inside' computers - I don't know how many times
I've fixed networks 'not being able to talk to each other' by removing
the inside firewalls.

For AV Software - if they want cheap, Grisoft's AVG does the job quite
nicely, and is very very cheap (free).

To the OP - I wonder, are y'all reselling Web-Ster, by any chance? All
the farmers down here seem to use Web-Ster, re-sold to them in some
fashion or another.
