Wait a minute, the pc card itself at least is well documented
for Linux use.

Check out:
 http://www.guerrilla.net/reference/80211_mod/SMC2632_antenna_mod/

That provides a means to modify the antenna so that an external one
can be used. I'm not up on doing the modification myself,
but my EE brother might be.

I should be able to plug this adapter into a pci to pcmcia bridge
that Linux can support shouldn't I? Where can I get one?

This is what's written on the largest square chip on the pci to
pcmcia adapter: PLX Technology PCI9052 S 0052 T2B BR2129.1 TAIWAN.
Anyone recognize this bridge? Do I need to look for some other
writing on it? The pc card comes up under google where the pc
card was taped to this thing with what looks like manufacturers
tape. I got this from a guy in Canada. I'd be surprised if
someone out there hasn't gotten either the bridge that comes
with it to work under Linux or another bridge to work. Surely
there's a Linux compatibility list for pci to pcmcia bridges?
