If you happen to be any sort of entity that might be required to provide
backups to the courts that's a big point.  Current example would be 
the Mutual Funds and brokerage houses that were allowing after hours
trading.  The SEC is requesting several years of email archives.  These
businesses were also required to keep backups in the first place.  For
that matter there's a push for all IM traffic to be archvied.
