Red Hat has been at least vaguely resembling profitable for quite some
time now. I know it's an understatement to say the Red Hat IPO did
gloriously well. I'm not sure there's words in the English language
that describe just how well Red Hat did at IPO.

Fortunately, some people have gone out and actually written an IDE
that I can tollerate, and is fairly welcoming to new users. kdevelop
fits this nicely and I hope to see it grow, though I hope people don't
forget the necessity of staying small and doing one thing well instead
of a dozen craptastically.
